Overall daily supervision/management of the Intake and Homefinding units, which includes but not limited to the following:
Recruitment of prospective foster homes for Family Foster Care and Therapeutic Family Foster Care programs in NYC and Westchester County.
Oversight of the programs’ intake process and ensuring program is able to accept and meet the needs of children referred.
Ensure the oversight and tracking of Foster Home availability and utilization of all foster homes.
Be available to attend training to become MAPP and PST certified and facilitate training to our foster parents to support their knowledge development when onboarding.
Supervise/monitor the numerous aspects of the homestudy process conducted by unit workers.
Supervise the annual re-certification of all foster homes within both programs.
Update all foster home case records to incorporate any changes which may occur, i.e.: the addition/subtraction of family members, relocation, changes in household member’s mental/physical health status.
Participation in Incident Review meetings for both programs and follows through on all recommendations noted and conduct any safety reviews as needed.
Foster a team approach by providing information and support to all program supervisors/workers as needed.
Acts as a member of the foster care programs’ incident review committee and provides relevant and salient guidance around critical incidents
Attend and participate in all CMCS administrative meetings, and provide necessary direction as needed
Attend all ACS and DSS Homefinding meetings and maintain a professional working relationship with ACS and DSS staff.
Acquire and become knowledgeable of all city/state mandate changes as they occur, and be able to translate and put into practice all information obtained, to enhance the overall functioning of both foster care programs.
Supervision and training of unit caseworkers
Be an ambassador for Cardinal McCloskey Community Services at all times, as a means of promoting our agency in a professional manner as one networks to increase our overall exposure within the communities which we service.
Works closely with Senior Leadership for the procurement of any relevant RFP’s and any other relevant projects related to homefinding, recruitment, and intake.
Implements and tracks data related to homefinding, recruitment, and intake and collaborates with the Quality Assurance Department to this end.
Essential skills, experience, licensure, certification:
· Master’s Degree in Human Services with significant experience in the field of social welfare and child welfare, supervisory experience, and awareness of new trends in the field of children’s and family’s services; Licensure preferred
· Bilingual (Read, Write, and Speak) in the Spanish language strongly preferred
· Experience in recruitment/homefinding of foster parents with demonstrated track record of promoting innovative strategies.
