Association to Benefit Children (ABC) is dedicated to bringing joy and warmth to disadvantaged children and their families through compassionate, sustainable, comprehensive and integrated services, designed to permanently break the cycles of abuse, neglect, sickness and homelessness.

ABC's infant & early childhood mental health single-point-of-access program, In Good Hands, was established to connect infants and young children in need of mental health treatment and other early childhood developmental services and supports with a team conducting screenings and evaluations, psychoeducation, and system navigation support. In Good Hands provides seamless entry into appropriate services and programs, including but not limited to evidence-based treatments and interventions inclusive of clinic-based, school-based, and milieu enhancing approaches. Children are also screened for Early Intervention and Special Education eligibility.

Additionally, this program offers a variety of opportunities for professional development, including trainings for child and family-serving professionals and specialized trainings for mental health clinicians.

Job Type: Full-time (40 hours/week)

Salary: $55,000/year

Start Date: Before end of 2023

The Clinician Evaluator will:

Engage and assess children referred to the program
Develop an appropriate treatment plan jointly with the parent(s)
Work with the parent advocates to facilitate connection
Represent the program and its commitment to early childhood mental health providers and systems in NYC
What we are looking for: (Skills, Education and Requirements)

Advanced Degree and Licensure/Certification in field related to mental health
2+ years of experience providing mental health services to children ages 0-12 years in a similar community
Experience with evidence-based tools for mental health disorders
Competency in considering cultural and psychosocial factors when formulating mental health diagnoses using a variety of tools and perspectives
