Job Summary:

The Clinical Consultation Supervisor provides oversight and supervision within their scope of nursing practice, managerial and clinical experience. Must have the ability to clinically supervise Nursing and Licensed Behavioral Health Practitioners (LBHP) staff within their scope of practice. Assure the quality and record of documentation of medical necessity, for the foster care population, which must include how the Core Limited Health-Related services are intended to address any of the following: 1. Deliver preventive supports through an array of clinical and related activities including psychiatric supports, information exchange with Medicaid community and skill-building. 2. Reduce the severity of the health issue that was identified as the reason for admission. 3. Provide targeted treatment related directly to the child’s ability to function successfully in the home and community/school environment (e.g., compliance with reasonable behavioral expectations; safe behavior and appropriate responses to social cues and conflicts or medically appropriate care).

Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day aspects of the medical and behavioral health practice within the Article 29I Clinic in accordance with the NYS Department of Health (DOH), NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) and the NYC Administration for Children's Services (ACS) to ensure efficient operations of the Clinic.
Perform general nursing duties to foster care youth by conducting assessments, including HIV risk assessments, intake assessments, general first aid and triage activities.
Conduct routine screening for substance abuse, developmental health, mental health and physical body checks for abuse.
Conduct routine management and training regarding chronic conditions, such as diabetes and asthma.
Provide training and health education including reproductive health education.
Provide Prescription and non-prescription medication consultation according to the scope of practice of the Pediatrician and or Psychiatrist.
Develop medical eligibility recommendations for foster care youth pertaining to their health and behavioral health care needs.
Supervise Licensed Behavioral Health Practitioners (LBHP) to establish treatment goals for children, utilizing historical and currently available information utilizing a trauma informed lens and strength’s perspective.
Review all health care information and medical records of foster children/youth to complete relevant documentation.

Education & Experience
NYS Licensed Registered Nurse, with a master’s degree nursing. A minimum of five years of clinical/managerial nursing experience with children and must have First Aid and BLS certification. Work Knowledge of Health, Mental Health and Behavioral Health Issues of youth.
