To be a successful Development Associate in the Hope For Youth Development Department you must become able and willing to do the following always:
1. Function within the policies and procedures as outlined in the employee manual and agency policies
2. Maintain a knowledge of all Hope For Youth programs and needs of these programs as it relates to volunteer activities and donations.
3. Respond to volunteer inquiries, interview potential volunteers, complete necessary paperwork to onboard a volunteer and ensure necessary training is provided as per the volunteer handbook, maintain database of volunteers including prospects
4. Respond to offers of in-kind items, coordinate delivery and pick up of items, and distribution, complete thank you notes and maintain database of donor contact information and donation history
5. Provide photography of volunteer activities and distribution of in-kind items; prepare written material for agency website and social media pages as it relates to volunteers and donations
6. Assist the Development Director and HFY Management in various events and projects related to fundraising, agency and program awareness and communications, as directed, and other assignments as needed, including (but not only) helping management in the development of fundraising goals and events and works to achieve and surpass these goals, writing grant proposals and developing event opportunities; and
7. Work directly with management and development team to manage project workflow, oversee and reach day-to- day and other milestones for projects.
How you will spend your time in this job (approximately):
20% events, meeting with volunteers and donors and related administrative tasks
40% responding to inquiries and following up on paperwork and supporting the development department goals, performing administrative duties sending emails, making phone calls, filing, copying, sorting, mailing, etc. related to these needs
25% preparing photography and writing and uploading website/social media content, related projects
5% staff meetings/supervision/training

To qualify for this job you need to have:
1. BA preferred
2. A valid driver’s license
3. Ability to prioritize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently
4. Ability to work well with a team to promote company initiatives
5. Ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional nights and weekends, 40 hours/week
6. Ability to engage volunteers and donors as it relates to the Hope For Youth Mission
7. Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing and organizational skills
