Job Summary:
The Assistant Program Director supports the goals of the agency as well as provides supervision and coordination of staff supervisors and assumes administrative coverage in the absence of the Senior VP of Children and Family Services. The Assistant Program Director of Family Foster Care oversees and coordinates all aspects of the Therapeutic Family Foster Care program, including supervision and management of the program, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and oversight over casework decisions.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide administrative coverage of FFC Program in absence of the Senior VP of Children and Family Services.
Possess a high level of permanency planning experience to assist Unit Supervisor’s in expediting permanency and ensuring the safety and well being of children is addressed
Direct supervision and coordination of Unit Supervisors and support staff within the FFC and TFFC programs.
Assure Unit & Program achievement of all ACS and OCFS targets
Conduct regular staff evaluations to provide constructive feedback and if necessary, to address performance issues
Collect and analyze data and information to prepare reports, request for grants, RFPs and other special projects.
Ability to work under pressure and respond to unforeseen circumstances
Keep abreast of current trends and practice models in Child Welfare.
Represent the Family Foster Care Program at ACS, OCFS and Agency Administrative Meetings.
Provide backup coverage on FFC & TFFC cell phone rotation
Ability to interact with and complete assignments in a manner sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
Ability to work independently and interface positively with contractors, the agency’s legal consultants and other service providers.
Able to work flexible hours including evenings and scheduled weekends as needed
Ability to develop and maintain connections with community-based programs that can provide services to children/families during and after discharge.
Self-motivated team player who is positive, friendly and outgoing with a sense of humor.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Connections, LTS and ACS Intranet is required.

Education & Experience
Master’s degree in social work (MSW) or equivalent degree in psychology, sociology or the relevant behavioral science required.
LMSW Preferred.
Five years of Supervisory/Management experience working in foster care required.
