Job Summary:
The Quality Improvement Coordinator will work with program staff to collect data and use evidence to develop measurable goals for program improvement using a Continuous Quality Improvement approach. This person will also ensure programs’ compliance w/agency policies and government regulations from NYC Administration for Children’s Services, Office of Children and Family Services and NYS Office of Mental Health.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Report to the Assistant Director of QI.
• Participate as part of the QI team in staff meetings, training, and team building activities.
• Identify and participate in immediate response to safety related issues in programs.
• Develop knowledge of policies and regulations related to the agency and specific programs, and keep program staff updated.
• Collect data from systems of record including: Connections, Data Warehouse, and Legal Tracking System (LTS), New York state Incident Management Reporting System (NIMRS), Permanency Hearing Report System, and the agency’s internal databases, Asara.
• Conduct on-site safety and case reviews.
• Assess data from a variety of methods and share findings with program staff.
• Develop data tracking tools using Excel, as needed.
• Facilitate the CQI process with program staff through four key annual activities.
• Participate in collaborative problem solving with program staff to address immediate issues and strengthen program operations.
• Complete all necessary internal and external reports related to program performance.
• Assess reports and audits received from government jurisdictions and manage follow up.
• Any other related duties, as requested.
• Bachelor's Degree Required with 3-5 years of experience
• Proficiency in core competencies required: data collection, assessment, collaborative problem solving, facilitation, written communication, and strategic planning.
• Strong Excel Skills Required
• Master's Degree preferred with experience
• Foster Care or child welfare experience is preferred
