The Chief Program Officer (CPO) Provides Senior Executive administration to agency programs and related administrative areas and reports directly to the President/Chief Executive Officer (President/CEO). This position assists the President/CEO with all aspects of agency performance and provides inspired leadership to develop and nurture a dynamic organizational culture that embraces growth, a team approach, and creative thinking


• Assume executive leadership role in achieving the highest possible standards while developing and carrying out the agency’s mission, goals, and objectives
• Keep the President/Chief Executive Officer informed of all major issues and concerns
• Oversee Executive-level and Senior-program staff and provide support in all elements of program and related administrative areas
• Assure program and agency compliance with local, State and Federal regulatory agencies.
• Direct staff in the development and monitoring of program budgets
• Assure adherence to all internal compliance standards (CQI, HR, Fiscal)
• Direct and expand IT initiatives for managed care readiness
• Evaluate and prepare programs for managed care activities
• Prepare monthly program reports indicating key areas of program and staff functioning.
• Direct and assist Program staff in after-hour emergencies
• Represent programs at local and state meetings/conferences
• Work with President/Chief Executive Officer in developing and expanding program initiatives
• Work with President/Chief Executive Officer in agency Development activities
• Assume leadership and responsibility for programs in the absence of the President/Chief Executive Officer
• Provide on-going development and supervision to direct reports, focusing on accountability.
• Monitor program strategic planning goals
• Participate in the Board of Directors meetings

 Work cross collaboratively with other members of the Executive Management team to make sure that all programs work seamlessly to provide a strong vision for the agency
 Support all functions that attain and maintain accreditation and compliance with regulatory agencies
 Provide leadership in developing and overseeing all organizational policies and procedures
 Assume such other duties appropriate to the position as may be assigned

JOB SPECIFICATIONS (Skills, Knowledge, Ability)
Ability to interact with and complete assignments in a manner sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics

 Exceptional leadership, management, supervision and creative skills
 Proven success as a member of an executive team
 Experience in leading a large and complex agency
 Assure constant review of local, state, and federal regulations and ensure compliance with standards
 Effective at working collaboratively with other members of the Executive Team, Management Team, Board members and staff
 Experience in planning, leading, and managing multiple projects and tasks

The candidate should have a minimum of ten (10) years progressive management experience (diversified programs) in a non-profit setting to include executive management. A LMSW is required, Juris Doctor (JD) preferred. Experience with budgets, compliance, facilities management, and Information Technology a must. Managed care experience preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; after hours response a must.
