Community Maternity Services (CMS), an agency of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany, is a multi-faceted human service agency, providing services for children, youth and families for fifty years. CMS provides unique 24-hour residential foster care services, services for runaway and homeless youth, and prevention services in both the Capital District Area and rural counties of the Albany Roman Catholic Diocese. Due to an internal promotion, CMS has an immediate opening for a full-time Associate Executive Director, a critical member of the administrative team. Overall responsibilities will include: the supervision, training and mentoring of residential and prevention program managers, nursing staff, and the Clinical Director; managing foster care and prevention contracts; writing grants and implementing new program initiatives; oversight of training, development and retention of staff; ensuring regulatory requirements are met; assisting with the accreditation process; administration of the transition from Medicaid to Managed Care; and ensuring the overall quality of services for the children, youth and families CMS serves.
The qualified candidate should possess a Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related field; 5 to 10 years of experience in residential and prevention programs in a supervisory capacity; experience in trauma informed care; critical thinking skills and the ability to multitask and work as a member of a collaborative team. A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a related human service field with 10 or more years of directly relevant child welfare and supervisory experience may also be considered. A valid NYS Driver’s License and an automobile in good working order are also required.
Physical requirements include, but are not limited to, the ability to be trained and perform Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Techniques, including physical interventions; the ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and the ability to walk up and down stairs.
Compensation is based upon education and relevant child-welfare and management related experience.
