Hope For Youth is an approved provider of Department of Health’s SPA Services known as Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services (PSR) through Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS). SPA services are rehabilitative services under the EPSDT benefit and available to children/youth under the age of 21 who are Medicaid eligible, that meet medical necessity. PSR services can be delivered in the community where the child/youth lives, attends school, and/or engages in services. Hope For Youth has immediate openings for Part-Time PSR (English/Spanish) Community Service Workers (HS Diploma) and Specialists (BA/BS degree) who work with youth in the community.

To be a successful Youth Community Service Worker or Specialist you must:

Function within Agency’s policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual
Function within the guidelines of the Program’s operations manual
Achieve successful outcomes for children as the activities during respite/transport/visits/job readiness/confidence building and mentorship relate to child or family goals (shared)
Some of this work may occur within other agency programs including but not only residential services
Function as a vital member of the team
Represent the agency/program in a positive and professional manner in all contacts.
Community Service Workers and Specialist Staff will spend their time in this job:

80% Conducting individual and group transports, respites, mentoring and supervising visits,
20% staff meetings/supervision/training.
Qualifications for a Community Service Worker or Specialist are to be 18 years or older with:

High School Diploma or GED and minimum 3 years working in children's mental health, addiction and/or foster care OR Bachelor's/Master's in social work, psychology or related field
Valid NYS driver’s license and driving record in good standing
Physical Requirements: Operate a motor vehicle carrying up to ten (10) children and youth, lift/move up to fifty (50) pounds, escort children and youth into the community using stairs when necessary, restrain a child or youth during a crisis, read/write reports and log entries, walking/standing for prolonged periods, bending/stooping, kneeling/squatting, climbing stairs, reaching overhead, repetitive wrist/finger movements, driving.
Part time work schedule
Bilingual- English/Spanish speaking highly preferred
