As part of Abbott House’s Executive Team, the Director of Quality Improvement and Program Development (QI Director) will lead six to eight-person team in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities with a variety of social service program staff serving 700+ vulnerable young people and adults across New York.

The QI Director is responsible for coordinating the annual agency-wide CQI calendar and related activities. Proficiency in core competencies is important, including: data collection, assessment, collaborative problem solving, facilitation, written communication, and strategic planning. These skills will be applied when working with staff to gather and assess data, and facilitate planning sessions with program staff and leaders providing services contracted by: NYC Administration for Children’s Services (ACS), NYS Department of Health (DOH), County Department of Social Services (County DSS), NYS Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), NYS Office of Mental Health (OMH), Managed Care Provider Payment Systems, and Health Homes and CCOs.

Central to the QI Director’s responsibilities is the role of Chief Compliance Officer at the agency, managing all aspects of agency-wide policies and procedures and developing mechanisms to ensure adherence to them. In addition, the QI Director manages internal and external investigations, and reports to the Board of Directors on all QI matters. This person is also responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory mandates, and works as a liaison with State, City, and County contracting authorities to ensure such compliance.

The QI Director will help Abbott House continue to develop and grow its programs and services. This includes representing the agency with all State and local governments, managed care companies, professional associations, and at external events. This also includes researching development opportunities, overseeing the grant application process and all required reports for grants and contracts. The QI Director is responsible for the development and management of the staff’s professional development program, including oversight of in-person and web-based training platform.
